Alden "Michael" McClafin, 63, passed away on Thursday September 7, 2023, surrounded by his family. Michael was born in Holyoke, son of the late Alden and Evelyn (Brown) McClaflin. He grew up in South Hadley before settling in Chicopee and worked professionally as a Custodian in the Springfield School District and as a driver for Hulmes transportation. Michael had many interests which included golf, fishing, hunting, traveling, and spending time with his family and animals. His family will always remember his 30 years of playing Santa throughout the holiday season.  Michael is predeceased by his sister, Evelyn Dufault. He leaves behind his wife, Erica (Richard) McClaflin, three daughters; Michele Moore, Rachel Beaudoin and Cassandra Mathieu (James), a son, Kenneth Mathieu, two sisters; Peggy Hogan (Gary) and Heidi Moffat, six grandchildren; Arianna, Ayden, Addilyn, Logan, Jenavieve, and Freya, and many beloved nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held for Michael at 11am on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at the Village Cemetery in South Hadley Falls.
