Betty ( Drasye ) Vieu , 89, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family in South Hadley, MA on October 21, 2022. She was born on September 17, 1933 in Tupperlake , NY to Eugene and Rose Drasye . She was predeceased by both her parents, her husband Victor Vieu Sr., her sisters Clara Vieu , Eileen Crochetiere and Bernadette Morrissey, her brother Maynard Drasye and her daughter in law Laura Vieu . Betty is survived by her children Diane Fountain and her husband David of Enfield, CT, Ronald Vieu and Ellen Mercer of Chicopee, Wayne Vieu of Canton, ME and Victor Vieu Jr. of Chicopee, her grandchildren Lisa Marques, Eric Vieu , Kimberly Vieu , Brian Fountain, Nicholas Vieu , Jason Fountain, Kate Hinkley and Jacob Vieu , 17 great grandchildren, her sisters Shirley Houle, Marie Fernandes and Veronica Kramer, her brothers Donald, Gary and Gordan Drasye and many nieces and nephews. Betty and her husband met and married in Tupperlake , NY, moved to South Hadley, MA and raised their family. She retired from James River Graphics in South Hadley. She loved baking and cooking. Anyone who knew her, loved to eat whatever she made, especially "silver dollar blueberry pancakes". She had a love for Christmas and large family gatherings. She volunteered for many years at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Granby, MA at the Christmas bazaar. She spent may summers picking blueberries and strawberries with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, playing scrabble, swimming and having large picnics. She will be missed by all. Please join the family on Thursday November 17 th at 10 am for mass at St. Patrick's Church, 30 Main Street, South Hadley, MA followed by a graveside ceremony at St. Rose Cemetery in South Hadley, MA.
