Blanche Cooke, 94, passed away peacefully on 10/2/2023. She was born in Holyoke on 6/8/1929 to the late Clifford Cooke and Marion Dyer Cooke. Blanche graduated from South Hadley High School in 1947. She lived her entire life in Granby first at Cooke's Corner and most recently at Phins Hill Manor. She worked as a bookkeeper after high school and was a highly requested waitress at The River Lodge and The Log Cabin for many years. She made delicious whoopie pies that were enjoyed by her nieces and nephews at Mt. Tom after skiing. Blanchie, as we called her, attended countless Hopkins Academy games to watch her grandnieces and grandnephews play many different sports. She was truly an amazing aunt who was very generous and supportive of all our endeavors. She loved her summer trips to Lake Winnipesaukee with her family where she enjoyed a slow cruise around the lake. Blanchie enjoyed decorating her Christmas trees completely in candy ornaments, and we enjoyed taking them down and eating them on New Year's Eve! Her prime rib and baked stuffed shrimp were staples at Christmas dinner. She was predeceased by her parents and her brothers Thomas, Warren and Donald and her niece Laura and her nephew Jeffrey. She is survived by her sister-in-law Joan Cooke and her nieces and nephews Marlene, Pamela, Dyer, Glenn, Donna, Debra, and Matthew. She leaves 20 great grandnieces and grandnephews and 18 great- great grandnieces and grandnephews. Services will be private. The O'Brien Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
