Obituary

Bruce A. Lajoie, 75, died Friday in Holyoke Medical Center. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Armand and Gloria (Fournier) Lajoie. Bruce grew up in Chicopee and graduated from Chicopee High School. Bruce worked with his grandfather, where he got his love for trucks and cars. Later as a chef with his dear friend Costo. Finally retiring from the Teamsters after working 50 years as a truck driver. He loved flying, racing and showing his horses. He was a member of AOPA, NHRA, USCCA, and the Ludlow and Chicopee Fish and Game Clubs. He was predeceased by his wife Donna, son Alan and brother Larry. He leaves his granddaughter Emma Rose, two sisters Gail Richard of South Hadley and Sandra Lajoie of Ludlow, close friends Cindy and Edward Fitzgerald, several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Calling hours at the O'Brien Family Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St. South Hadley, MA, will be Thursday February 15th from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. Friends and family will meet at St. Patrick's Church for the funeral mass on Friday February 16th at 10am. Burial will follow the mass in Notre Dame Cemetery.
