Carmen G. (Mailhot) Jacques, 92, was called gently home to be with her beloved husband Guy on Wednesday morning, November 19, surrounded by her loving family. Carmen was a blessing to her family as she shared so much joy, love and compassion for each and every one of them. She will be deeply missed, but her unwavering kindness and gentle spirit will live on forever with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and their spouses.

Carmen was born in Garthby, PQ, Canada a daughter of the late Olivier and Lucienne (Gagnon) Mailhot. She and her devoted husband of 65 years started their family in Canada and later moved to Holyoke and then Chicopee to raise their family. She worked alongside the love of her life, Guy, at Pats Supermarket for many years and had previously worked as a seamstress, but primarily was a devoted wife, mother and the best Grandma.

Most recently she resided in Feeding Hills for the last 27 years, enjoying life with her family and friends. She especially loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visits with Carmen always included shared meals and especially shared tea and cookies.

She is survived by her four children, Johanne Kolodziej and her husband Ed of Longmeadow; Lyne Paradis and her husband Rick of Southampton; Daniel Jacques and his wife Bethany of Hatfield; Guylaine Rivest and her husband Mark of Feeding Hills. Grandma will be deeply missed by her 11 adored grandchildren; Jennifer Haghayegh, Alyssa Demers, Nicholaus Paradis, Kristen Trznadel, Celia Demers, Joshua Jacques, Samantha Roberts, Cassandra Holt, Matthew Jacques, John Jacques and Becca Paradis; 13 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members she cherished. Carmen also leaves her sister, Rita Mailhot of Sherbrooke, Canada.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 10:30-12noon at O’Brien Family Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St., South Hadley, MA 01075 with a funeral home service at noon. The private inurnment in St. Michael’s Cemetery will be at a later date.
