CHICOPEE – Carole Ann (Seabrease) Szatkowski, 75, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on September 24, 2020. Born in Maryland to the late Henry D. and Anna (Zola-Smith) Seabrease, she attended local schools. In 1963 upon graduating High School, she was hired by the National Security Agency at Fort Meade, where she worked as an Intelligence Analyst and trained Portuguese Linguist. Carole received several commendations for her performance in her specialty of International Merchant Shipping, especially during the early stage of the Vietnam War. In 1974, she resigned from NSA to become a full-time mother, eventually relocating to Massachusetts with her husband Peter and daughter Mary. Carole took pride in her National Defense work and heritage as a direct descendant of Veterans from as far back as the American Revolution. Although her greatest Pride and Joy was being "Grandma" to her beloved twin grandchildren Ava and Cael Young, Carole loved being a wife and mother. Besides the twins, Carole leaves her husband of 47 years Peter Szatkowski; her daughter Mary Young and her husband Sean of Westfield; a sister Jenny Marie Dolch and her family in Pasadena, MD. A chapel service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 6 th 10:00am at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. The Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
