Carolyn Skiba of Chicopee, MA passed away on January 14, 2025, at her home in Punta Gorda, FL.
Carolyn was born on January 15, 1946, to Henry and Rose Hoskins in Tyler, TX.
Carolyn was the only one in her family to attend college and she graduated from Texas Woman's University. It was in Mineral Wells, TX where Army Warrant Officer Robert Skiba met Carolyn at an Army sponsored dance at Fort Wolters, TX. They married in 1967. After Robert's service in Vietnam, they went on to have two children, Robert II and Christina.
Carolyn enjoyed her years working in early childhood development. She worked for Headstart, was a preschool director, later became a sign language interpreter, a teacher of deaf children at Willie Ross School for the Deaf and was also a leader in her church deaf ministries.
Carolyn was predeceased by her son Robert Skiba II and her husband Robert Skiba and is survived by her daughter Christina Kinman, Granddaughter Alexa-Ann Fuller and Great-grandson Jay-Thomas Fuller.
Friends and family are invited to meet for the funeral service on Thursday, January 23rd, at 10am at LifePoint Church, 603 New Ludlow Rd. Chicopee, MA 01020. The burial will be private. For more information or to make online condolences please visit obrienfamilyfh.com
