Obituary

Charles A. Popp, 68, of Holyoke passed away on Jan. 29. 2021 at Holyoke Medical Center.  He was born in Holyoke to the late Alfred (Bunny) and Maurine (Shaw) Popp. Charlie graduated from South Hadley High School and was employed by Baystate United Moving Company.  He later became an EMT and dye mixer at Rexam Graphics.  A proud honorary Hibernian, Charlie tirelessly worked on the floats for the St. Patrick's Day parade.  He was a funny, kind, and generous man who enjoyed a deep and abiding love for family while volunteering countless hours to help others.  To say he will be greatly missed would not do justice to the hole in our lives his passing has created. Charlie is survived by his children, David and his partner, Christian Torres of Holyoke, Megan Rodgers and her husband Sean of East Longmeadow, and his seven siblings, Wayne and his wife Cheryl (Wright) of South Hadley, Stephen and his wife Cynthia (Hearn) of South Hadley, Deborah Popp-Kosarick of Pembroke, Jeffrey and his wife Susan (Trznadel) of Chicopee, Jonathan and his wife Loanne (Seguin) of West Springfield, Rebecca Bergeron and her husband Normand of Feeding Hills, and Jennifer Andrade and her husband Jack of South Hadley, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.  We all join his very good friend, Paul Hogan of Holyoke, in mourning his passing. Due to COVID restrictions, no services will be held at this time.  Donations can be made in Charlie's memory to the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division One Holyoke, P.O. Box 6535, Holyoke, MA 01041-6535. Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. For more information or to make online condolences please go to curranobrien.com.
