Obituary

Diana J. Blanchard, 70, died at home on Monday surrounded by her loving family.  Diana was born in Holyoke, grew up in Granby and has lived in Southampton since 1990.  She worked as the office manager for Blanchard & Daly Electrical Contractors for many years.  She leaves her husband of 50 years Douglas Blanchard; her two children Michael and his wife Amy; Becky Lech and her husband Jason; eight grandchildren; her sister Laureen Molin and husband Al; her brother in laws Donald and Glenn Blanchard; her cousins Donald and James Fleming and many nieces and nephews.  Diana enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing, the ocean and cross country skiing (where she was always first to test the "big hills" before her husband, sister and brother in law would dare to try). For 35 years, Diana loved to spend time at her camp in Corinth, Vermont with her family and friends. She was a lifelong fan of the Red Sox and the Patriots, enjoyed German food, Irish beer and occasional trips to see Broadway shows.  Diana devoted her life and love to her husband, children and grandchildren, and will be remembered by all for her endless kindness and empathy, and as a person who was simply incapable of speaking poorly about another. The funeral home service will be Friday at 11 am at the Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home. Calling hours are Thursday 4:00 to 7:00 pm. For more information please go to curranobrien.com.
