Erline M. (Sheehan) Plichta, 102, died Sunday May 19th. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late John and Bridget (Brown) Sheehan. She lived in Holyoke during the Depression, married Ed Plichta several years after WWII and built a home in South Hadley where she lived for 70 years. She was a graduate of Bay Path College. Erline worked as an administrative assistant in the Geology Department at Amherst College for many years. She enjoyed their summer home in Yarmouth Port and spent 18 winters in Stuart, FL after she retired. Her mind remained crystal clear and she was able to walk. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Edward Plichta. She leaves her son Bruce Plichta of Yarmouth Port, MA, her daughter Katherine Stadnicki of West Springfield and two granddaughters Patricia and Stephanie Stadnicki of South Hadley. A graveside service for Erline will be held Tuesday May 28th at 11 am in South Cemetery in Belchertown. The O'Brien Family Funeral Home in South Hadley has been entrusted with the arrangements.
