Evelyn (Watt) Scheibel Dillon, 90, died Friday at HealthSouth in Ludlow. She was born in Holyoke and lived most of her life in South Hadley. She was also a longtime resident of Groton Long Point, CT and Naples, FL. Evelyn was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, a member of the Jr. League of Holyoke and the Holyoke Hospital Auxiliary. She graduated from Holyoke High School in 1944 and was Vice President of her senior class. Evelyn graduated from Mary Immaculate Hospital School of Nursing in Jamaica Queens, NY and worked as an RN at the Doctors Hospital, New York City and Springfield Hospital, Springfield. She was predeceased by her parents Walter and Mary (Coughlin) Watt, her step-mother Julia (Crowley) Watt, her first husband George D. Scheibel, her second husband James H. Dillon, her son George D. Scheibel Jr, her brother James Watt, her sisters Helen Houlihan, Dorothy Carr, Mildred Watt and Mary Watt and her granddaughter Sara Scheibel. She leaves three daughters Marianne Harrington of East Longmeadow, Elizabeth Scheibel and her husband Paul Boudreau of South Hadley and Karen Gerber of West Hartford, CT, a son Jeffrey Scheibel of Micco, FL, three step-daughters Elizabeth Dillon, Kathryn LaMagdelaine and her husband Mark and Maria Deasy and her husband John, eleven grandchildren George Scheibel, Kyle Gilpin, Ericka Harrington, Evan Gerber, Meg Scheibel, James Scheibel, Alex LaMagdelaine, Sarah LaMagdelaine, Anna Deasy, Thomas John Deasy and Matthew Deasy and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family may meet for the funeral Mass Wednesday at 10 am in St. Patrick's Church, South Hadley. Burial will follow at St. Jerome's Cemetery, Holyoke. Calling hours at Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St., South Hadley will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
