Evelyn (Edge) Simpson, 78 of South Hadley, died Sunday, December 24, 2017. Born in Holyoke, July 31, 1939, the daughter of the late George and Evelyn (Drewitz) Edge. Evelyn was a lifelong resident of South Hadley and graduated from South Hadley High School, class of 1957. Upon graduation, she worked for many years in banking and for the Town of South Hadley from which she retired. Evelyn was a member of The First Congregational Church of South Hadley. She was a Justice of The Peace since 1986 performing 1002 weddings. Evelyn was also an avid gardener, lover of animals and enjoyed traveling. She is survived by her sister, Nancy Hall of South Hadley and a nephew, Shawn Hall of Belchertown and many very special friends. It is Evelyn's request the funeral service be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home of South Hadley are handling the arrangements.
