Gail (Pollard) Fitzgerald, 73, died Thursday at Mercy Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family. She was born in Holyoke, grew up in South Hadley and graduated from South Hadley High School in 1965. Gail fulfilled her passion for travel by working as a flight attendant for Delta for 34 years. She had a great sense of humor, many wonderful friendships she cherished, but most of all she loved her grandchildren. She leaves her husband of 47 years Kevin Fitzgerald, two sons Ryan Fitzgerald and his wife Janel of North Reading and Casey Fitzgerald of South Hadley and two grandsons Drew and Dylan Fitzgerald. She was predeceased by her sister Sandra Pollard. Her funeral service will be Tuesday August 13 starting with a calling hour from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley followed by Mass in St. Theresa Church at 11:00 am.
