Obituary

George R. Bissel, 93, died Sunday at home. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late George W. and Sophie (Tubenis) Bissel. He lived most of his life in Granby and was a salesman for many years for AMPAD. He and his wife later co-founded and ran Hilltop Crafts, a custom wood working and painting craft business. George was an avid fisherman and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was predeceased by his wife Mary (Maloney) Bissel. He leaves his son George R. Bissel Jr. and his wife Lori of Marietta, GA, two daughters Maureen Patrick of Westfield and Kathleen Bissel of Ludlow and two grandchildren Danielle and Renee Bissel along with several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Saturday July 22nd at 10 am at the O'Brien Family Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St., South Hadley followed by burial with Military Honors in St. Rose Cemetery.
