Obituary

Gerald Wyatt Henderson, 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, surrounded by his loving family in the home that he had built.  He was born in Chelsea, MA , son of the late Walter L. and Effie L. (Wyatt) Henderson. He grew up in South Hadley and remained a lifelong resident there.  Gerald began his career as a basic carpenter working his way up to become one of Western Builders Project Superintendent during his thirty plus years before retiring.  His work is seen in town as well as other areas.  He had a deep love for sports and coached South Hadley Youth Hockey and Tri-city Youth Hockey for 10 years.  His smile and quiet manner left a deep impact on many who knew him.  Gerald leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Janet E. (Chartier), son Scott G. Henderson and wife of Jacqueline all of South Hadley and his daughter, Leigh C. Henderson Lincoln and husband Justin of Ludlow and four grandchildren:  Grant Henderson, Michael and Daniel Duran and Mariah Duran Robles and husband Luis. There will be a private family burial held for Gerald.  Memorial donations may be made to Holyoke VNA Hospice Life Care. 575 Beech Street Holyoke MA 01040.
