December 1, 1944 – July 17, 2022
Chicopee – Gerald J. Kervian Jr, 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 17, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Gerald was born in Holyoke and lived in Chicopee where he attended Chicopee High. After graduation, Gerald joined the Marines where he served in Vietnam. He worked as a Purchasing Manager for Rexam Graphics in South Hadley and retired after 35 years. Gerald enjoyed fishing and hunting at his camp in Otis and Golfing in various charity tournaments. He also enjoyed traveling and taking frequent trips to Bermuda where he would tour the island and go deep sea fishing. He is known to his loved ones as the Chicopee version of "Macgyver", because he had a creative way to fix pretty much anything. Gerald was creative and thrifty and enjoyed traveling to different flea markets and thrift stores to find hidden treasures that he would resell through online marketplaces, however ultimately his favorite activity was doting on his four legged feline companions. Gerald is predeceased by his mother Mildred (Hager) and Step-Father Edward Wojciechowski; a brother Marcel "Butch" Kervian (1984) and his sister Patricia Dieffenbacher (1999). He leaves behind his wife Linda, two sons; Edouard and wife Jackie and Aaron and wife Jill, his sister Janice, five grandchildren; Eddy, Stephen, Chris, Amber and Tanner and numerous great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held for Gerald at The O'Brien Family Funeral Home, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley, MA 01075 on Monday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Disabled American Veterans Charity, PO BOX 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250 or to a charity of your choice.
