Gretchen W. (Ritchie) Soucy, 50 died suddenly on Sunday July 31 ^st at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Northampton, daughter of Robert and Jean Ritchie and grew up in Amherst. She graduated from Darrow School in New York State and later from UMASS. She leaves her son Cameron Soucy, age14, her step-daughter Ashley Towne of Epping, New Hampshire, her parents Robert and Jean Ritchie of South Hadley, her brother Graeme W. Ritchie and his wife Mayara of Providence, RI, her sister Jannah M Tierney and her two children Andrew and Megan Tierney of Northampton, Cameron's father Marc Georges Soucy of Springfield, and Cameron's other grandparents Harold and Francine Soucy of Westfield. Both Cam and his mom have a close circle of friends-their "hockey family" who have always been there for them in times of need. They continue to be there for the family now.
