Obituary

It is with heavy heart that the family of Harry Dennis Ishler announce his death at Fisher Hospice. Harry was born in Philadelphia, PA to Mary Elizabeth & Glenn Cunningham. He lived in Lansdale, PA and summered in Center County, PA at the family farm. He had many fond memories of those years. He was adopted by his Uncle Kenneth & Mary Ishler to carry the Ishler name. He joined the Army Aircorps in 1961 and was sent to Vietnam where he flew and repaired helicopters. When leaving the Army he attended and graduated from Wentworth College, moved to Enfield, CT where he and 1st wife Sue Hungerford Ishler brought up their children. Harry was employed at United Technologies, Hamilton Standard as a material engineer in the Space & Sea Systems. While he lived in Enfield he also served as Plant Manager Broadbrook Mill and he obtained his licenses as an electrician and plumber. In 1976 Harry became a Mason. He was also a member of Scottish Rite and joined Melha Shrine in 1976. Harry was a very active Shriner; past President of 21-45 Club, Captain of the Trykes Unit, member of Legion of Honor, Past Masters Club, Drum Corp, Team Circus and Chief Potentate's Aid, President and Treasurer of Pioneer Valley Shrine Club. In 1992 Harry became a Charter Member of The Order of the Q raising funds for Springfield's Hospital Transportation fund for patients. He was President of T-269 and Northeast Q Association. He served as Treasurer of T-269 until his death. Harry and Marilyn were married July 6, 1991 and had many happy years traveling with the Shriners. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He was predeceased by his daughter Kerri Anne Ishler, his mother Mary Elizabeth Ishler Goodman and Kenneth Ishler. He leaves, his children Tracy Dawn MacLachan, her children Isabella Alexandra MacLachan and Gabriel Cedrick Lee. William Kenneth Ishler and his children Autumn Lynn Ishler and William Harry Ishler and great granddaughter Haylee Mae Phillips. He also leaves his wife Marilyn Ishler and step children Michael Mongeau, Michelle Mongeau Dubuc and Meredith Mongeau Kuczyinski and their children. A Celebration of Harry's Life will take place when we are allowed to gather again. Please send donations in his honor to Springfield Shrine Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield MA.
