Irene Jendrysik, 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023 at Daybrook Village in Holyoke. Irene was born and raised in Holyoke, daughter of the late Bertha (Golubek) and Roman Grodzicki.  She was an avid polka dancer and enjoyed playing cards and reading. Family was the most important thing to Irene, and she cherished the time spent with them the most. Irene is predeceased by her husband, Frederick Jendrysik, two daughters; Arlene Weagraff and Susan Wilbur, two brothers; Edwin and Richard Grodzicki, a sister, Genevie Taylor, a son-in-law, John Weagraff, and her dear friends Ted and Stella Gajda. Irene leaves behind a daughter, Karen Hughes and her husband Steve of Belchertown, a sister, Dorothy Czaporowski of Chicopee, four grandsons;  Chad, Keith (Dara), Brenden (Katie) and Adam (Amanda) Kapusta, three great-grandchildren; Sloan, Jace and Avery, and many other nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to Bonnie & Rebecca, who provided comfort to Irene in the last two years.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 15th at 10 am at the O'Brien Family Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St. S. Hadley, MA 01075. Committal to follow at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in South Hadley. A calling hour will be held prior to the funeral from 9-10 am at the Funeral Home.
