James P. Fenton, 65, of Feeding Hills, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Born in Holyoke on September 21, 1960, he was the beloved son of Mary (Baker) Fenton and Robert Fenton. James was raised in Holyoke, where he attended Holyoke Catholic High School and Holyoke Community College. He was a devoted parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church, where he and his wife, Michelle, were married before moving to Westfield to raise their family.

James dedicated more than 30 years of his career to McKesson, where he worked as a Senior Project Manager. In addition to his work with McKesson, he also enjoyed a successful career as an independent consultant. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force Reserve from 1980 to 1984.

James embraced life with enthusiasm and found joy in the moments shared with those he loved. A lifelong sports fan, he proudly supported the Boston Red Sox and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed attending Bruce Springsteen concerts and creating lasting memories with family and friends. Some of his happiest times were spent vacationing with his family on Cape Cod and in Rhode Island. Above all, James cherished time with his family, whose love and laughter were the center of his life.

James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Besides his loving wife, Michelle Fenton, he leaves his son, Daniel Fenton and his wife, Erika, of Feeding Hills; his cherished grandchildren, Madeleine and Joseph; his brother, Thomas Fenton and his wife, Lori, of Feeding Hills; as well as nieces and nephews, Colin, Jenna, Lindsey, and Kayla Fenton.

During his final years, James was lovingly cared for at home by his wife, Michelle, and his devoted caregiver, Michelle Britt. Their compassion and dedication allowed James to remain surrounded by the family and memories he cherished most. The family is also deeply grateful to the team at Hospice of Western & Central Massachusetts for the comfort and support they provided.

He was predeceased by his Mother, Mary; his father, Robert; and his brother, Matthew Fenton.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate James at a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 29, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Summit View in Holyoke.
