HOLYOKE – James W. Roule, 74, died peacefully Sunday at home surrounded by his loving family. James was born in Yonkers, NY, lived in South Hadley before settling in Holyoke. He was a graduate of South Hadley High School and served in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, James opened up Bridge Motor Sales which he has owned and operated for over 50 years. James was a professional snowmobile racer and holds a National Championship Title. He also was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing golf on vacation in Myrtle Beach. He was a late model race car driver with his #55 car. He leaves his wife of 51 years Lucille "Lou" (Martel) Roule; two daughters Cherie Roule and her partner Michael Maslak: Debbie Beaudry and her husband Steven; two granddaughters, whom he loved and adored, Natalie and Allison Maslak. He also leaves seven siblings Alice Germain, Ronald Roule, Patricia Roule, Evelyn Mikuszewski, Eleanor Walsh, Barbara Marion, Catherine Cloutier, many nieces and nephews.and his beloved and devoted friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley on Tuesday, June 4 th from 11:00am – 1:00pm followed by the procession to the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery for a 2:00pm committal service.
