James G Swope lost his battle with Cancer at 930am on Saturday, November 13, 2021. James was born on June 16, 1942 to the late John & Helen (Uttech) Swope. James attended Merrill High School and graduated in 1960. James was an active member of The American Legion in Melbourne Florida, AmVets of Palm Bay, VFW of Palm Bay & the Eagles of Palm Bay. He was predeceased by brother Jack Swope (August 25,2014) Katey Hull & sister Judy Swope Wissen (January ,2016). James leaves four children; James & Susan (Griswold) Swope of Hawley, Michele Swope Stark & Ken Stark of Shelburne Falls, Jay & Patricia Swope of Heath & Melissa Swope of Buckland. James also leaves several nieces & nephews. James has 6 grandchildren & 16 great grandchildren. His wife Denise Swope still resides in Palm Bay, Florida. A Funeral service will be held for James at O'Brien Family Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St. South Hadley, MA on Friday the 19 ^th at 11 am. A calling hour will precede the service from 10 – 11 am.
