Jean Mae (Rogers) Harris of Chicopee passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on February 20, 2025 at the age of 96. She was born in Dedham, MA on February 10, 1929 to her parents John and Esther (Sawyer) Rogers. Jean worked for Gillette Safety Razor for several years before moving to Western MA. She graduated from Smith Vocational 1973 as an LPN and began her nursing career at Hampshire County LTC facility in Leeds. She then went on to earn her RN from STCC, while working and raising a family. She retired from Hampshire County as a Nursing Supervisor. She was predeceased by her beloved husband George (Bud) Harris, parents John and Esther Rogers, brother Robert Rogers, sister-in- law Barbara Rogers and nephew Jack Rogers. She leaves behind her children Nancy J. Perman of Chicopee, Laurajane Cymes and her husband James of The Woodlands TX and David Harris and his wife Kelly of Derby VT. She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren Amity Perman and her partner Todd Dextraze, Jeff Perman and his wife Carlie. Kirsten and Hunter Cymes, Megan, Erin and Conner Harris and his fiance Melanie Dodge. She also leaves great grandchildren Jadin Jean Kies, Sidelle and Vivienne Perman-Monnier. As well as several nieces and nephews. Jean developed a passion for playing the organ, and would often play for her family on holidays, and enjoyed attending organ lessons. She was a member of The Eastern Stars and enjoyed playing cards on Thursdays with her honorary sisters. Jean and Bud loved to travel. After retiring in 1989 they sold their house and hit the road in their RV. After crossing the country several times they decided to settle in Chicopee. A burial and celebration of life service will be held on May 30, 2025 at 9:00am in the Veterans Cemetery in Agawam MA.
