Jeanne Marie Teresa (Gregoire) Peloquin, passed away peacefully in her garden on May 25, 2020 in South Hadley, of natural causes. Born June 24, 1940 in Holyoke, to Thomas Louis Gregoire and Irene Josephine (Chamberland) Gregoire. She was the 19th child of 20 children, and is predeceased by her siblings Diane, Yvonne, Alice, Odana, Eva, Grace, Joseph, Lydia, Freda, Emile, Rose Rita, Simone, Thomas, Doris, Theresa, Stella, Donald, Shirley and Raymond. Her parents were among the many who came from Quebec to Western Massachusetts during the textile and paper manufacturing boom. In 1957 Jeanne married Ronald Henry Baudin, who passed away in 1964. She married Oakley Joseph "Red" Peloquin, Jr., longtime South Hadley plumber of great repute in 1965. He predeceased her in 2004. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic High School and later trained and was licensed as a beautician, working as a hairdresser for over 20 years. She was an avid craftsperson and seamstress, carrying on a tradition of needlework going back to her mother, known for her exquisite crochet work. She was also a skilled candlepin bowler. She passed on her love of gardening to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed her membership in the Red Hat Society and her circle of card-playing friends at the South Hadley Council on Aging. Her children include Sharan Marie (Baudin) Dombrowski, Michael James Baudin (d. 1958), Kim Laurie (Baudin) Reopell, Michelle Louise Baudin (d. 1964) and Kevin Paul Baudin, Sr. Her beloved grandchildren include Ronald Henry Brasher, Mark Steven Denesha Jr., Tiffany Hope LaRoche, Ashleigh Marie Baudin (d. 2012), Ryann Irene Baudin, Brittany Elizabeth (Reopell) Milton, and Kevin Paul Baudin, Jr. Her great-grandchildren include William Keith Childs, Savannah Destiny Woodward, Aiden Scott Woodward, Dominic Galen Woodward and Mark Steven Denesha III. All are invited to celebrate her life at the funeral mass at St. Patricks, South Hadley at 11 a.m. on June 24. Please wear a face mask. After the funeral, her remains will be interred beside her husband at St. Rose Cemetery, South Hadley. Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
