It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joan E. Milbier, who peacefully departed this world on November 10, 2025, at the age of 95, surrounded by the comforting presence of her loving family. Born on October 30, 1930, Joan led a remarkable life characterized by an abundance of love, unwavering kindness, and a spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her. Daughter of the late John E. McCarthy and Helen V. (Buckley) McCarthy, she was the cherished youngest of five siblings. Joan embarked on an exciting career as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines, providing warm hospitality and creating memorable experiences for passengers. However, fate had something even more special in store for her, as she later found her soulmate in William F. Milbier. Their love story unfolded, and they embarked on a beautiful journey together, raising their four children in the welcoming community of Wilbraham, MA. As the years passed, Joan and Bill cherished their time together, dividing their days between the familiar comforts of Wilbraham, MA and the sunny shores of Naples, FL. Joan leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, and she is survived by her daughter Heidi Milbier and her husband Wayne Petri; her sons, William F. Milbier of Victoria, TX; John E. Milbier and his wife Denise Milbier of Springfield, MA; and Michael J. Milbier of St. Petersburg, FL. Joan leaves many nieces and nephews whom she adored. Joan is predeceased by her siblings, Father Jack McCarthy, Mary McCarthy Lightcap, Helen Barrett Whalen and Edward and Barbara McCarthy. Joan's funeral will be Saturday December 6th starting with visitation from 10:00 to 10:30am at St. Theresa's Church in South Hadley. The funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 10:30am. The O'Brien Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
