Joanne M. (Dubois) Tourville, 87, of Chicopee, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 20, 2023. She was born on December 24, 1935 in Springfield, MA to the late Albert and Jeannette (Quenneville) Dubois. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Thomas Tourville in 1999. She leaves behind her son, Christopher Tourville and his wife Katherine of Lancaster, PA, her daughter, Marie Tourville of Chicopee, her granddaughter, Sarah Tourville and her fiancé Timothy Poudrier of Chicopee, and her great-grandchildren, Damien Tourville and Isabella Poudrier. She also leaves her brothers, Lawrence Dubois and his wife, Doris, of South Hadley and Eugene Dubois and his wife, Joan, of Stuart, FL, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Joanne grew up in South Hadley, MA and attended South Hadley schools. She then went on to receive her teaching degree at Westfield State Teacher's College. She taught for many years as an elementary and early childcare teacher. Her children were both very involved in the Agawam schools' music programs. Joanne and Thomas became band parents when Christopher started marching band in 1982 and continued to be "Mom and Dad" to a great number of band members until Marie graduated in 1987. During that time, Joanne held the position of Treasurer for the Agawam Band Parents Association for a few years. She also enjoyed reading, watching her shows and camping with her family.

A funeral mass will be held at 10am on Friday, October 27th at Saint Theresa of Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 9 East Parkview Dr., South Hadley, followed by a graveside service and burial in Notre Dame cemetery in South Hadley. O'Brien Family Funeral Home in South Hadley has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made on Joanne's behalf to the Friends of Agawam Music Education, 760 Cooper St., Agawam, MA 01001.
