Obituary

South Hadley – John "Hack" Haczynski, 67, was called home to eternal rest on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Holyoke Medical Center. John was born in Holyoke, son of the late Edward J. and Marion (McCabe) Haczynski. He was a long-time resident of South Hadley and worked at the Food Mart as a Produce manager. He loved all sports, particularly his Boston teams, fishing, hunting, anything to do with the outdoors and hosting poker nights to hang out with the guys. Following his accident John took up woodworking, making birdhouses. Hack was known by his friends and family for his quick wit and he always kept everyone laughing with his one-liners. John is survived by his three siblings; Thomas Haczynski and wife Gail of Leander, TX, David Haczynski and wife Carol of South Hadley, and Mary Rousseau and husband Maurice of South Hadley, several nieces and nephews, his dear friend, Perry Krumsiek of South Hadley and his pet bird, Buddy, who was a great companion. John is predeceased by his sisters Jane Haczynski and Lee Haczynski. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life for John at 3 pm on Saturday March 8th at the Boathouse Restaurant in South Hadley. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
