Obituary

Judith A. "Judi" Lavelle, 78, passed away peacefully Saturday with her husband William and son Chris by her side. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Edward J. and Agnes (Jackson) Coburn. She grew up in Holyoke and moved to South Hadley in 1961 to move into the house that her father built. She attended Our Lady of the Rosary Grammar School and graduated in 1962 from Rosary High School. After graduation Judi decided to pursue a career in the commercial field as a secretary. She held many positions including executive secretary, administrative aide and receptionist. On April 27, 1965 Judi married William T. Lavelle at St. Ann's Church. She enjoyed her daily phone calls with Chris as well as his Sunday visits. She also looked forward to the time spent with Chris on birthdays and Mother's Days to restaurants in Greenfield and Bernardston for dinner and occasional trips to Tom's Hot Dog Stand in Whately. Judi had an outstanding personality. Bill used to call her "Miss Personality Plus". Judi got along well with her co-workers. One of the kindest compliments given by a co-worker to Judi was "When I was greeted at work by Judi in the morning, it made any day that much more pleasant and enjoyable". Thank you, Judi. She leaves her husband William Lavelle, who literally stood by her side throughout her recent illness, her son and the sunshine of her life Christopher E. Lavelle of South Hadley, her brother Edward Coburn, her Godson Roy Sabourin of South Hadley, her brothers and sisters-in-law Ann and Joseph Paul of Holyoke, Joan Marie Cook of Frisco, TX and Michael and Nancy Lavelle of Willimansett and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
