June (L'Esperance) Forhan, 98, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 13, 2021. June was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Helen (Kane) L'Esperance, and the wife of the late Maurice (Za) Forhan. A long time resident of South Hadley, she is survived by her daughter, Eileen (Forhan) Keaffer of Rochester, MA, her son Jeffrey Forhan and his wife Lisa of Brewster, MA, a grandson Sean Forhan and his wife Alexandra of South Deerfield, MA and two great grandsons, Sebastian and Rowan Forhan also of South Deerfield. Ms. Forhan was predeceased by a son Patrick (Rick) Forhan. June is also survived by two of her six siblings, Lois L'Esperance and Robert L'Esperance both of South Hadley; she was predeceased by her sisters Hazel (Mrs. William) Moynahan and Helen (Mrs. Norman) LaRocque, brother Charles and his wife Merla (Miner), brother Earl, and sister-in-law Barbara (Blanchard) L'Esperance. At the time of her death, June was a resident of the Soldier's Home in Holyoke having served as a Yeoman Second Class in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. Returning home from the Navy, she married and raised her children in South Hadley. She was a long time employee of the Town of South Hadley where she worked in the cafeteria at both the Intermediate School and South Hadley High School. She also spent many years working with the catering office of the Fairview Knights of Columbus. The funeral will be Tuesday May 18 ^th starting with a calling hour from 10:00 am to 11:00 at Curran-O'Brien-Funeral Home followed by a funeral home service at 11:00 am.
