June M. O'Connor

SOUTH HADLEY – June M. (Bigelow) O'Connor, 83, died peacefully Wednesday morning surrounded by her loving family.   June was born and raised in Holyoke and has lived in South Hadley most of her life. She was a graduate of Holyoke High School and the Holyoke Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for local hospitals, clinics, and geriatric facilities. Her husband Michael O'Connor died in 1991. When her children were young, she was an active member of the South Hadley Youth Hockey Association. She greatly enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in a wide variety of sporting events. She leaves four children Michael and his wife Teresa, Thomas and his wife Kelly, John and Anne O'Connor; a sister Pat Pollins; thirteen grandchildren, Michael, Sarah, Kathleen, John, Katy, Emma, Bridget, Sophia, Caroline, Chloe, Mick, Jack, Tommy and a great grandson Jonathan Paul. Besides her husband June was predeceased by a brother Thomas and sister Barbara Chartier. Visiting hours will be held at the Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley Friday from 3:00 – 6:00pm. A private burial will be held in St. Jerome's Cemetery.
