With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Karen P. Blanchard of South Hadley, who left us on May 26, 2025, at the age of 61, after her battle with Alzheimer's disease. Full of love, laughter, and resilience, she touched the lives of all who knew her. Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and had an unprecedented love for her animals. She recently retired from the Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgeons of Western New England in Springfield; enjoying her days of gardening, horseback riding, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband, Bruce G. Blanchard of South Hadley; daughters, Amanda Reed of Southwick, Nadine Williamson and her husband James of East Longmeadow, Kathryn Gluszek and her husband Frederick of Ludlow, and Rachael Herbert and her husband Christopher of Palmer; her beloved grandchildren Isaac, Dalton, Claire, Daphne, and Eslyn; siblings Robert Moos and his wife Maryann of Southington, CT, Justine Babski and her husband Ed of Holyoke, and Valerie Daviau and Norman Avey of Chicopee. Karen also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and her long-time friends Patty Marion and Linda Casey.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday June 11th from 4-7 pm at O'Brien Family Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St. South Hadley, MA 01075. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Central New England Equine Rescue made in her memory are sincerely appreciated.
