Kathryn J. Kirby

1943 – 2017

SOUTH HADLEY – Kathryn J. (Kosienski) Kirby, 74, of South Hadley, passed away at home December 6, 2017.  Born in Holyoke, She attended schools in Holyoke, then South Hadley High School.  Following graduation, she held various secretarial positions at Baltazard Insurance Company in Chicopee and Mt. Holyoke College from which she retired.  She was the daughter of the late M. Frank and Genevieve "Jean" Kosienski.  She leaves behind her devoted husband of 53 years, Richard C. Kirby. Her two loving sons, Daryl and his wife Karen and Jason and his wife Julie.  A loving brother M. Fran Kosienski and his wife Midge. Her cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Leah and Katelyn Kirby; nephew Matt J. Kosienski and his wife Lisa and their adult children Christopher and Shawn Ryan with youngsters Leyla and S. Ryan, Jr.  She was proud of her Polish heritage, the food and music, second only to those nice trips to the Casinos.  A funeral home service will be held at the Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley, Saturday December 16, 2017 at Noon.  Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral home service on Saturday from 10:00am – Noon.  For more details please visit curranobrien.com.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
