Kevin J. Fitzgerald, 74, passed away peacefully Monday February 14 ^th in Holyoke Medical Center with his family by his side. He is reunited with his beloved wife Gail (Pollard) Fitzgerald who passed away in August 2019. Kevin was born and raised in Holyoke, son of the late Jeremiah and Doris (Turcotte) Fitzgerald. Following high school, he joined the Navy and went to bootcamp at the Great Lakes. He was stationed at Virginia Beach and served his country in the Naval Intelligence Department during Vietnam. Kevin lived most of his life in South Hadley and worked as a technician and line-man with Verizon for his entire professional career, serving communities all over Western Mass.  Upon his retirement, he could be found on the golf course trying to break 80. He loved watching golf, the Patriots and Red Sox but most of all, he loved his grandchildren. Kevin was very giving; he would never put himself first and was always there to help a friend in need. Kevin was an amazing father to his boys. He leaves behind two sons Ryan Fitzgerald and his wife Janel of North Reading and Casey Fitzgerald of South Hadley, his brother Brian Fitzgerald of Holyoke, his sister Mary Beth "Betsy" Adams of Florence, and is predeceased by his brother Gary Fitzgerald.  He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Drew and Dylan. The funeral will be Thursday February 24 ^th starting with a calling hour from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the O'Brien Family Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St., South Hadley followed by Mass in St. Theresa Church at 11:00 am.
