South Hadley-Kris S. Scheinost, 55, died Wednesday at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Holyoke, grew up in South Hadley and lived in Holyoke before moving back to South Hadley. He was a former food service director for Lathrop Retirement Community. He was pre- deceased by his father Edmund Scheinost of South Hadley. He leaves his mother Diane (Helm) Scheinost of South Hadley, three sisters Trudy Rahkonen and her husband John of Monson, Debra Avery of Belchertown and Lois Burns and her husband Michael of South Hadley and his brother Carl Scheinost and his wife Deserie of South as well as numerous aunts, uncles,cousins, nieces and nephews. Kris was a talented artist and craftsman. He had a gift
for nurturing plants and animals. The funeral home service will Saturday November 2nd at 11:30 am at the Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St., South Hadley followed by burial in West St. Cemetery, Granby.
