"Larry J. Trotter, 82, of Granby, MA, passed away peacefully on January 21 at Mercy Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on October 31, 1943, in Johnstown, PA, to the late Donald Trotter and Rose Trotter (Miller).
Larry proudly served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Westover Air Force Base, where he met the love of his life, Irene Soltys. They were married on July 4, 1964, and shared nearly 60 years together, raising three children: Todd, Tiffany, and Troy.
Larry worked as a purchasing agent and retired from the BASF plant in Holyoke after a dedicated 45-year career.
An avid outdoorsman, historical reenactor, and NASCAR fan, Larry was a valued member of the Northeast Mountain Men and served on the board of the Chicopee Sportsman Club. He was also a proud Jack Daniel’s Squire and the official owner of one square inch of Jack Daniel’s property—an honor he enjoyed sharing with a smile.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Irene; his children Todd and his wife Sandra, Tiffany and her husband Gene, and Troy; and his eight cherished grandchildren: Chelsea, Elias, Alison, Eric, Chase, Conner, Jon, and Emily. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Larry was predeceased by his siblings, Richard Trotter, Sara Trotter, and Maryanne (Trotter) Bertolino.
