Leonard J. Giannetti, 81, passed away Friday surrounded by his family. Leonard was born in Pittsfield the son of Leonard and Mary (Pullano) Giannetti. Leonard worked as a journeyman in the manufacturing industry. He was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and was awarded a lifetime membership to the Knights of Columbus Council 4044. Leonard had a great passion for football and was the Commissioner of the Suburban Amateur Football league. He also loved his New York Giants.  Leonard is predeceased by his parents. He leaves behind his loving wife Joan (Fredette) Giannetti of South Hadley; Sons Leonard Jr. and his partner Kathy Lambert of Indian Orchard and Anthony and his wife Melissa of Holyoke; Daughter Lisa of Oxford, GA; Grandchildren Leonard III, Benjamin, Nora, Anthony Jr., Nicolas, Oscar, and Gina, Sophia and Finn Leal, his sister Kathryn Beaver of Wilbraham and niece Christina. The funeral will be Thursday starting with a calling hour from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the Curran O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St., South Hadley followed by Mass at St. Jerome's Church in Holyoke at 11:00 am. Burial in St. Jerome's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to a charity of your choice.
