Lucille Theresa (Thibodeau) Ryan, daughter of Edgar and Yvette Thibodeau of Massachusetts, passed away on November 7, 2020. She was born April 4, 1927 in Holyoke, MA. Lucille is predeceased by her husband John D. Ryan in 1994. She leaves their four children: Gail and her husband James from Baltimore, Maryland; Stephen and his wife Marie from Westfield, Massachusetts; Linda and her husband Robert from Lynchburg, Virginia; and John, Jr and his wife Cathy from Baltimore, Maryland. She also leaves behind her sister Lorraine, her brothers Paul, and Richard. She was predeceased by her younger brother Donald. Lucille also leaves 16 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren. Lucille received her education in Holyoke, MA and moved to South Hadley in 1945. She was a secretary for the South Hadley Town of Selectmen for many years. Lucille was a devoted member of St. Patrick's Church in South Hadley and was an active member of their Women's Guild and an avid bowler. In her later years, she also loved going to the Council on Aging to see her friends. Her family fondly remembers all of her holiday gatherings, summer picnics, and beautiful quilts and afghans made for them with love. Lucille lived a life of faith in God that carried her through the many challenges that she faced and was an example of God's faithfulness to her entire family. She will always be cherished by her loving family. Visiting hours will be held at the Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley Friday, Nov. 13th from 10:30am - 11:30am followed by a Mass in St. Patrick's Church at Noon. Burial will take place in Notre Dame Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Council on Aging, 45 Dayton St., South Hadley, 01075.
