Norman Arthur Cournoyer, 79, a lifelong "Holyoker" passed away  after a long illness at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, June 3, 2021. Born on January 22, 1942. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Jeanette (Taupier) Cournoyer and his brother Laurence Cournoyer. For 41 years, Norman was an employee of Hamilton Standard/Sunstrand Space & Sea Division retiring in 2007 as an Electronics Lead man, where he had top secret governmental clearance.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, working on automobiles and Amateur Radio, his call sign N1AFY was retired 6/5/2021. He would have celebrated 58 years of marriage on June 22 ^nd to his beloved wife, Darlene "Dar" (Antes) Cournoyer. In addition to his beloved wife, Norman is survived by his two sons, Norm, Jr (Renata) of W. Springfield; Rick Cournoyer (Dawn) of Fernandina Beach, FL; his daughter, Cheryl Schussler (Mark) of Lawrenceville, GA; his nine cherished grandchildren: Jason (Jen), Kirt (Nicole), Jeff (Sabrina), Kristen, Ashley (Alex), Jennifer, Brandon, Caitlyn and Thomas; his three precious great grandchildren: Liam, Erika and Jace. He leaves behind, a brother, Raymond Cournoyer  (Debra) of Chicopee; his sister, Denise Beegle (James) of Lacey, Washington; his sisters-in law, Alice Cournoyer of South Carolina, Joanne Tobiasz of Holyoke as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 6-8PM at Curran O'Brien Funeral Home 33 Lamb St., S. Hadley, MA 01075. His funeral will begin at 8:30AM on Thursday, June 10, 2021 from the funeral home and be followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, Holyoke, MA.
