Patricia (Kane) Bickford, 85, died Monday March 21 st at Encompass in Ludlow. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Martin J. and Edith (Mosher) Kane. She lived in Sunapee NH where she owned and operated Bickford's on the Harbor with her husband Birnie. Later, moving to Florida, Pat volunteered for Hospice and successfully ran a small hospice retail shop. Her ability to see potential changes led to expanding one small store into several locations, bringing in extraordinary donations to the Gerstenberg Hospice Center. She became a Guardian at Leitem for West Palm Beach. Returning to Massachusetts, she made her Cursillo, forging new friendships and sharing their faith and devotion. Pat also taught Sunday School at St. Patrick's Church in South Hadley. She was predeceased by her husband Birnie F. Bickford in 2021 and her brothers Robert Kane and Bruce Raymond. She leaves her daughter Kathleen Wilson, son Birnie II, four grandchildren Lindsey Camp, Jacob and Zachary Wilson and Birnie Bickford III, two great grandchildren Shane and Tucker Camp, two sisters Irene Greenia and Bettiejane Harold and several nieces and nephews. The calling hours will be Sunday March 27th from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the O'Brien Family Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St., South Hadley. Friends and family may meet at St. Patrick's Church Monday March 28 th at 11:00 am for the funeral mass. Committal service at the Mass Veteran's Cemetery will take place at a later date.
