Obituary

South Hadley-Phyllis (Krumpholz) Lacoste, 91, died Monday March 3rd at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Charles and Mabel (Meyer) Krumpholz. Phyllis grew up on Sycamore Street in Holyoke and was a 1951 graduate of Holyoke High School. Since 1958, she and her loving husband of 69 years, Jean, lived in the house that Jean built on Pine Street in South Hadley. It was there that she passed peacefully after a long illness. Phyllis was a member of the First Congregational Church in South Hadley since the 1960's. Over the years she volunteered her time with the Girl Scouts, the Council on Aging and raising money to buy numerous defibrillators for the Town of South Hadley. For many years Phyllis was a receptionist and optometric assistant in the optometrist's office of Dr. L. Albert Webb in Holyoke. She was predeceased by her husband Jean L. Lacoste, who managed to care for her through many years of illness. She leaves a son Kenneth C. Lacoste and his wife Marlee of Block Island, RI, daughter Pamela Dalton and her husband William III, of South Hadley, four grandchildren Charles Lacoste and his wife Brandi, Parker Lacoste and his wife Rachel, William E. Dalton IV and Andrea D. Scouras and her husband James and seven great grandchildren Charlotte, Duke, Eloise, Amelia and Holden Lacoste and Alexander and Nicholas Scouras. Funeral service will be Saturday April 5th at 10:00 am at the First Congregational Church in South Hadley followed by burial in Forestdale Cemetery in Holyoke.
