Raymond McIsaac, 87, died Thursday February 22nd at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in the Bronx, son of the late George and Virginia McIsaac. He went through the New York City school system before serving in the Army as a paratrooper from 1953 to 1956. Ray worked for Woolworths department store for 20 years before owning and operating the Peg and Ray's Card & Gift Shop with his wife Peg in Holyoke, Springfield and finally in Westfield and Hadley. He was an avid Yankees fan who also loved to golf. He leaves his beloved wife Margaret (Reading) McIsaac, two sons Raymond Jr. and his wife Wanda of Northfield and William G. and his wife Meghan of South Hadley, a daughter Margaret of Suffield, CT, a brother Daniel and his wife Michelle of NY, a sister Joann Sommer of Athens, NY, six grandchildren Rachel, Shannon, Trevor, Marie, Connor and Molly, a great granddaughter Layla, his goddaughter Emily, many nieces and nephews, his dog Quinn and his cat Spot. Ray was predeceased by his son-in-law Ralph, his brother George, brother John and his wife Marie McIsaac, sister Virginia and her husband Frank Pugliese, brother Robert and his wife Betty McIsaac, sister Mary and her husband Tony Pagnanella and his brother-in-law Chris Sommer. Ray was a communicant of St Patrick's church, a member of Take and Eat, St Teresa's STAG and the Knights of Columbus #4044. The funeral will be Wednesday February 28th starting with calling hours at the O'Brien Family Funeral Home in South Hadley from 9:00 to 10:30 am followed by Mass in St. Patrick Church at 11:00 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow the Mass at the Veteran's Cemetery in Agawam at 1:00 pm. For more information or to make online condolences please go to obrienfamilyfh.com.
