Obituary

Robert R. LaBonte, age 83, died Thursday October 29, surrounded by his family. He was born in Holyoke, MA and retired from James River Graphics. Previously he worked for Roger Van Storage and Mestek. He was a former member of Sacred Heart Church in Holyoke, MA and served in the Army National Guard. Robert leaves behind four sons, Robert LaBonte of Chicopee, Norman LaBonte & wife Patsy LaBonte of West Springfield, Steven LaBonte & wife Laura LaBonte of South Hadley and Jim White & wife Ellen White of Woburn, two sisters Lucille Theroux of FL and Alice LaBonte, a brother Edward LaBonte of Springfield as well as Nine Grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Diane LaBonte and brother Donald LaBonte. Robert was a very energetic and active man. He lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. He loved to be with his family whether it was a day by the pool or a weekend camping. He thoroughly enjoyed going to and donating to the Senior Center. Riding his bicycle down the bike path in Hadley, going on weekly adventures and shopping were just a few of his favorite things to do. Among the little things in life he was also a big traveler and loved to see all the different parts of the world. The calling hours will be Thursday, November 5 from 4pm to 7pm at Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St, South Hadley, MA.
