Robert J. Scytkowski, 85, passed away on Friday December 8, 2023, at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his family. Robert was born in Holyoke, son of the late Elizabeth (Serafinski) and Stanley Scytkowski. He worked professionally as a General Foreman at Fountain Plating Co. while also maintaining a part time job at Food Mart and Big Y. Robert was a devoted parishioner of over 50 years at St. Theresa's Church in South Hadley and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th Degree Knight. In his spare time, Robert was an avid sportsman, playing golf, fishing, bowling and most notably softball. He played softball until he was 80 years old as a member of the Western Mass Relics. Above all, Robert loved time spent with his family. Robert is predeceased by his son, Douglas, a brother, Stanley Jr., a sister, Janice Bator and a brother-in-law, Walter Bator. He leaves behind his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy (Piantek) of South Hadley, a son, William J Scytkowski and wife Linda of Chicopee, a daughter, Lynn A. Peters and husband Bill of Chicopee, a daughter-in-law Dee Scytkowski of South Hadley, five grandchildren; Rae, Kari, Meaghan, Bevin and Ashley, Seven great-grandchildren; Kyle, Quentin, Rae, Liam, Emmett, Ryan and Kayleigh, and one great-great-granddaughter, River. Calling hours will be held for Robert at O'Brien Family Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St. S. Hadley, MA, on Tuesday, Dec. 12 from 4-7 pm. Friends and Family are invited to meet at St. Theresa's Church, 9 E Parkview Dr, South Hadley, MA, at 10 am on Wednesday, Dec. 13 for a Funeral Mass.
