SOUTH HADLEY – Rose M. Luchini, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 18, 2019. Rose was born in Framingham, MA, daughter of the late Luigi Pepi and Filomena Viglione. Rose and her loving husband William L. Luchini were the former owners of the well-known Holyoke institution "The Highland Fruit Company" (1903), also known as Luchini's of the Highlands, located on Hampden Street in Holyoke. She was a long time member of Saint Patrick's Church and The Italian Progressive Society. Rose was devoted to her family and was known to be an avid crossword puzzler and apple pie baker. Rose is predeceased by her husband; brothers Dominic, Rocco and Constantine; and her sister Teresa Little. Rose is survived by her three children; son Bill and wife Kathleen of South Hadley, Daughter Susan Decker and Husband Frank of South Hadley and son Robert Luchini; a brother Joseph Pepi; Granchildren William, Robert and Peter Luchini; Joe Decker and his wife Becky and Jessica Kimball and her husband James. Rose also leaves her Great Grandchildren Naomi, Hannah, Miles and Eva Decker and Sienna Kimball; as well as her God-children William, Christopher, John and Greg Aubin. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11 am at Saint Patrick's Church Followed by committal rights at St. Jerome's Cemetery in Holyoke, MA. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2-5 pm.
