Ruby Roberts, 98, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2019. She was the daughter of Frank and Dora (Lawrence) Roberts. Ruby spent most of her life in South Hadley where she taught 2nd grade at the former Woodlawn School for 45 years from 1933 to 1978. At the time of the closing of the school, Ruby recalled that, in the early years of her career, she could look out her classroom window at all the farms around the school. She cherished her memories of Woodlawn School and felt lucky to have taught there. She was predeceased by her brother Raymond and her nephew William. We would like to thank the 3rd floor staff of the Willimansett Nursing Home West for the care they gave to Ruby. The funeral Mass will be Friday October 4th at 11 am at St. Theresa Church in South Hadley followed by burial in St. Rose Cemetery. The Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
