Sandra Elaine Waller, 83, passed away at her home in South Hadley, MA on December 1, 2025. Born in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Frederick C. Jensen and Stephanie (Olynik) Jensen.

Sandra was educated at Russell Sage College, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in 1964, and continued her studies at Boston College, where she received her Master of Education degree in 1967. Her lifelong dedication to learning and helping others led her to a long and meaningful career in higher education. From 1989 until her retirement in 2020, she served as the Associate Director of Academic Services at Springfield College, guiding and supporting generations of students.

Sandy will be remembered for her generous spirit and her unwavering belief in education for all. She always put the needs of others first and approached life with a quick wit and a wry sense of humor that endeared her to everyone she met. She loved cross-country skiing, Elvis, and cheesecake, and her warmth and kindness touched countless lives. She always tried.

Sandra is survived by her son, John Waller, and his wife Jeanette of Holyoke; her brother, Fred Jensen, and his wife Lisa of Georgia; her sister, Joanne Jensen of Hartford and her two nephews, Christopher Jensen of South Carolina and Zach Waller of England. She was predeceased by her parents.

Calling hours will be held at O'Brien Family Funeral Home, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley, MA on Thursday December 11th, from 4:00–5:30pm. A funeral service will follow at 5:30pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
