Sherry A.
Greaney
September 18, 1967 – February 20, 2023
After a courageous five year fight with glioblastoma, Sherry A. (Cote) Greaney, 55, of Granby, passed away at home Monday, February 20th while holding the hand of her husband Michael, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 18th to Sylvio A. and Judy ( Vedovelli ) Cote, Sherry was a lifelong resident of Granby, where she developed a love of horses at Rimrock Acres on Taylor Street. She graduated from Granby High School and earned her Associates Degree in Nursing from Springfield Technical Communit y College, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Our Lady of the Elms College, and a Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. A Nurse Practitioner at Baystate for more than twenty years, Sherry loved the science behind nursing; she was a published author and speaker about her specialty, wound care. Developing close relationships and delivering empathetic care to patients with chronic disease was something she was known for. Sherry's last few years were spent at Holyo ke Medical Center, where she finished her professional career in August of 2022. Sherry had an adventurous, cowgirl spirit – she wanted to experience everything life had to offer. Traveling to new places with her family, her husband Michael, and friends was a cherished pastime. She was a true lover of nature, her favorite spot being Mt. Washington, and enjoyed any activity related to the outdoors: camping, fishing, kayaking, snowshoeing, and especially horseback riding. An avid runner, Sherry finished more than 20 marathons and ran countless road races and mud runs. Sherry was so appreciative of the continuous love and support from her friends and family during the course of her illness. She was especially grateful for the warmhearted care given by her sister-in-law Charlotte and dear friend Maggie Mercier. Sherry will be missed greatly by her husband, Michael E. Greaney; her sons, Cody C. Ferro and Evan P. Adeletti of Granby; her stepsons, Zachary M. Greaney of Granby and John P. Greaney of South Had ley; her parents Sylvio A. a nd Judy ( Vedovelli ) Cote of Granby; and her siblings: Guy J. Cote and his wife Charlotte, of Granby, and Scott A.
