Steven Edward LaBonte, 55 years old, passed away at Brigham and Women's Hospital surrounded by his loving family on May 4th, 2021. Steven was born in Holyoke, MA on January 7th 1966. He graduated from Holyoke High School in 1984. Steven is predeceased by his mother Margaret and father Robert. He is survived by his brothers Norman, Bobby, and Jimmy. He is survived by his beloved wife and Soulmate of 32 years, Laura (Trombley) LaBonte, their four children, John Champagne, Diane Champagne, Stephani Amato and her husband Marco, Jerika Templeton and her husband Stephan, adopted son, Anthony Crosby, and his beautiful grandchildren, Zayden, Hazel, Gabrielle, and John III. Steven leaves behind many other friends and family. Steven was the ultimate family man, always there for everyone, and the happiest when he was with his family. He enjoyed family picnics in the backyard, birthdays, holidays, and just being able to be with his family laughing together. At 18 years old, Steven entered the Army. In 1991 while on active duty he served in Desert Storm. Steven was a Teamster for 31 years. In his career of being a Truck Driver and Teamster he was a Local 404 and Local 671. Being a part of this was one of his favorite things in life. Steven loved to ride his Harley, go camping, do anything outdoors, and drink anything in a green bottle. Steven was self-taught in many things, including carpentry. If he couldn't fix it, youtube would help him learn. Steven truly was and will stay in our hearts forever as "That Guy". Any role he played, he exceeded expectations, going above and beyond. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and would give you the shirt off his back. He enjoyed being able to be of service whether it was a friend, family, or a stranger on the street. Steven will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him, but his spirit will always live on through the love of his family. Services will be held on Saturday May 15th, starting with calling hours from 3:00-5:30pm at Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home,33 Lamb St, South Hadley, MA 01075 followed by a funeral home service at 5:30 pm.
