Obituary

Theresa P. Dandeneau, 101, died Thursday, November 7th at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Taunton MA, daughter of the late Felix and Anna Pelletier.  She grew up in Central Falls, RI and summered in Taunton, where her family owned property on Lake Sabbatia.  Her father ran and owned a store on the beach where Theresa often worked to help out.  Theresa worked as an assembler at Spalding, the Springfield Armory and Ren Electronics. While at Ren, Theresa worked her way from part time night worker to supervisor.  Theresa was an avid New England sports fan, cheering on the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics.  She was able to celebrate the Red Sox reverse the curse, and win the World Series in 2004, the Patriots win their first ever Super Bowl (and the many more that followed), and marvel in the Celtics becoming the winningest team in NBA history.  The UCONN Huskies Women's Basketball Team has always held a special place in her heart.  She would watch their games whenever she could.   She is a big fan of Coach Gino and Assistant Coach Chris.  Recently Theresa and her daughter Carol have become fans of the WNBA.  Go Connecticut Sun!

Theresa and her husband Jim were campers for many years.  They particularly enjoyed trailer camping in Vermont where Jim seemed to always find a lake where the two of them would enjoy fishing.  Cape Cod was a special place for Theresa.  She often enjoyed camping on the Cape Cod Canal with her brother's and sister's families.  She loved the beach, the salt water and visiting the many points of interest that the Cape had to offer.  She enjoyed working in her yard, taking care of flowers, weeding the beds, trimming shrubs and even mowing the lawn.

Theresa enjoyed participating in PTA activities when her children were in elementary school.  Whenever there was a bake sale, she would bake a birthday cake and it was always the first sale.  She was a member of the Music Parents at South Hadley High School when daughter Carol was a member of the Tiger Marching Hundred.  She was a big fund raiser for the bands yearly trips to Philadelphia PA, The Rose of Tralee Festival in Ireland and The Tournament of Roses Parade in California.

Theresa loved her family with all her heart. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years James W. Dandeneau in 2001. She will be missed by her son James C. Dandeneau (Patricia Garrity) of Interlachen, FL, son Allen H. Dandeneau of Homosassa, FL and daughter Carol A. (Dandeneau) Bobbin (John Bobbin) of South Hadley, six grandchildren, James, Roland, Justin, Jeremy, Katie and Sean.  Theresa also has eight great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph L. Pelletier, Mary A. Pelletier, Loretta M. Lariviere and Roland F. Pelletier and her three month old son Howard J. Dandeneau in 1946.

The funeral will be Thursday November 14th at the O'Brien Family Funeral Home starting with a calling hour from 9:30 to 10:30 am followed by Mass in St. Anne Church at 11:00 am.
