IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Trần Thuận
Thành
December 30, 1936 – January 3, 2024
Trần Thuận Thành, 87, of South Hadley Massachusetts passed peacefully on January 3rd, 2024 at Baystate Medical Center. Thành was born in Hà Nội Việt Nam, son of the late Trần Đức Thuận and Lê Thị Sửu. He dedicated much of his life in Việt Nam working for the Pan Am Airlines and prior to that, serving in the Vietnam People's Air Force (VPAF) and specializing in aircraft radar systems. It wasn't until 1975 during the Việt Nam War that he, his wife, and four children along with nearly two million people fled Việt Nam. After rebuilding their entire lives from scratch, he and his family strived to create a life filled with peace, safety, and appreciation. Thành spent the next several years of his life working at Rexam Graphics as a machine operator to provide for his family. Thành was a kind and bubbly soul who was always smiling, joking, and being silly. He loved driving new cars, photography, Vietnamese music, and watching sports. In his later years, he was strong-willed and a fighter, never wanting to show any signs of weakness or pain despite his circumstances. He never gave up and kept on smiling up until his very last moments. Everyone who knew him described him as the sweetest little man who was laid back and simply happy to be alive. Coming from a family of 10 brothers and sisters, he is predeceased by two brothers (Họp and Luạn Trần) and two sisters (Hoa and Oanh Trần). His legacy will continue on through his loving wife and caregiver Trần Thị Thịnh of over 50 years, his children: Mai (Nick) Trần, Nam (Quyen) Trần, Trang Trần, Trâm (Dũng) Trần, Phong (Emma) Trần, and six grandchildren: Mina Provost, Grace Trần, Glory Trần, Celine Trần, Andy Trần, Pauline Trần, and several brothers and sisters: Loan Trần, Thắng Trần, Thịnh Trần, Vựong Trần, and Liȇn Trần. Calling hours will be held for Thành on Saturday, January 6th, 2024, at the O'Brien Family Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St. South Hadley from 4 – 6 pm. The funeral will be held privately at a later date.
